Come to Harlem to mingle with fellow Mawrters and dip your toes into the world of needle felting, a craft developed by wool workers in the 1980s. Needle felting is a process by which bundles of brightly colored wool are shaped—in this case, into small owls—by repeated stabs with a barbed needle. The craft is easy to learn, environmentally friendly, and intensely satisfying. The event will take place at the home of Molly Marion ’20.
Molly Marion (she/her) graduated from Bryn Mawr with a degree in political science. She currently helps run the after-school study-hall program at New York City’s Hewitt School. A lifelong artist and crafter, she is proficient in watercolor painting, linocut printing, digital illustration, and crochet.
