The Lady Eve (1941) stars Barbara Stanwyk as Jean, a con artist who, after accidentally falling for the mark Charles (Henry Fonda), is spurned. Fixated on revenge and still pining for the millionaire, she reintroduces herself to Charles as an aristocrat named Lady Eve Sidwich. The New Yorker called the Preston Sturges comedy of innocence and experience “one of the most liberatingly funny films ever made.”
Afterwards discuss the film and catch up with friends at dinner across the street at Daryoush.
