In partnership with alumnae/i volunteers, Alumnae/i Relations and Development continues to collect resources and readings to guide our pursuit of positive change. As part of this work, we established a collective alumnae/i reading initiative in the summer of 2022 to have open and purposeful alumnae/i conversations about the advancement of antiracism at Bryn Mawr and beyond.
The book selection for 2023-24 is The Sum of Us by Heather McGhee. An on-campus discussion took place in October 2023 during Owls Fest, and registration is now open for a virtual discussion about the book on Thursday, March 14 at 7 PM led by committee member and former Mayor of Minneapolis Betsy Hodges '91. If you have not already done so, you can purchase a copy of The Sum of Us online at the Bryn Mawr College Bookshop. An adaptation of the book for young readers is also available here.
