Join us for a walking tour of San Francisco's waterfront, from the Gold Rush era to today, from a sometimes lurid past to a revitalized present and future. Whether you're new to the Bay Area or a long-time resident, this is a great introduction to both the city's history - and Bay Area Mawrtyrs.
In addition to the waterfront of the Gold Rush era and Victorian San Francisco, "Walking on Water" covers such topics as the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island, the Great Earthquake and Fire of 1906, Lillie Coit and her Tower, the General Strike of 1934, Emperor Norton, and much more!
After the tour, attendees will be able to continue the conversation at a local cafe or restaurant (venue TBD depending on group size).
All BMC alumnae/i are welcome! As a special "Welcome to the City" for BMC's newest alumnae/i, Class of 2025 undergraduate alumnae/i are invited to attend free of charge.
When registering, please be sure to list a phone number that accepts text messages so we can reach you with any last-minute details or changes.
